Dare to be emotional. {and yes the pictures are of me trying to recreate Zooey Deschanel} The most important way to convey emotion is through a story. The best commercials, the best brands, the best advertisements, they don’t actually sell you on the product; they tell you the story, they tell you the end result. They show you how you will feel having their product in your hands.
We can convey our brand’s story through color, picture, audio, video, language, and my favorite, the info-graphic. Using stories on your social media builds social trust. Stories help people see who you are and what you are about. Stories make you want to get to know someone. Start by brain storming what stories you can tell about your brand. What’s happened to you recently? Have you receive a great customer review? Did you take a picture at your last party? Whatever your story is – TELL PEOPLE. Tell them in all the ways you know how.
If you have a message with emotion, then you have a brand story.
Emotion is a state of mind where you experience a feeling. Emotions are what first draws our attention to anything & everything. Then as consumers, we use logic to decide whether or not we really need what we are being offered.
This is exactly the experience we need to create for everyone who interacts with our brand. As a small business or a direct seller, it is even easier to convey emotion to our customers because we can be so much more personal. Our industries are based on relationships and networking. Everyone CRAVES that personal connection.
- This is why the “about” page is the most viewed page on small business websites.
- This is why direct sales is such a large industry.
- It’s why social media is so big right now.
