Today, I want to give you some ways to really tap into your creativity, so that your business can benefit from the advantages your creativity can bring it. I dare you to create.

If you are an entrepreneur and have found a way to make money from home – that takes creativity. Creativity in business isn’t a new idea, it is how companies have been able to create new products, progress technology, and adapt to shifting markets of decades and decades of business. In our industries, however, it is even more important. You must be experimental and unafraid to try new ideas.

I found this great info graphic (as seen above) describing the left brain & the right brain. It’s relevant to today’s topic because while left and right brained people clearly think differently, they both can be equally creative.

Left brain people are creative problem solvers & organizers. They find ways to do things creatively & efficiently. Right brained people use their free spirit to get in touch with the movement of a paint brush, of a pen writing their words, and everything they feel becomes a creative idea.

Every fabulous creation takes a certain amount of your left and right brain, sometimes we will be in one area of the brain more than the other, but regardless, you need to let your creativity come to light. Your new mantra: I am a creative & innovative entrepreneur. Every fabulous idea, leads to a fabulous product, blog post, photo, service, process, business, movement.

“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.” Albert Einstein

Below are a few tips that can help you find and harness your creativity.

    1. Listen to music while you work. Music helps your blood move & engages your senses.
    2. Observe. Notice what is standing out to you daily, it’s the little things that make big impacts & spark the best ideas.
    3. Designate a brainstorm area in your office OR go work AWAY from your desk.
    4. Engage your *muse. (i.e. go shopping for a specific outfit, paint, write, draw, sing, dance, organize).
    5. Document creative ideas. (i.e. whiteboards, Evernote, notepad, iPhone recorder, posterboard, etc).
    6. Create friendships with those who inspire you. (i.e. masterminding).
    7. Adventure. Go to new places, do new things, challenge yourself. This is when the best “ah-ha” moments happen.
    8. Stop caring so much – go inward & get quite. (“Dance like no one is watching, sing like no one can hear”).
    9. Know what you need. Create the space that let’s creativity flow openly. (ie: coffee, a quite room, soft rain in the background).
    10. Turn off your electronics. Unplug.

Okay this is liberating. We can get so focused on being tuned in & turned on but I personally find that it is most liberating when I don’t have anyone or anything to distract me.
